表语前置倒装例句

形容词原则上是不能作主语的。这是个倒装句，表语前置，主语后移

有时为了表示强调或出于句子结构平衡的需要，将作表语用的形容词或分词短语等置于句首，主谓倒装。

如:

1) Among those invited were some ladies.

有些女士在邀请之列。（表语among those invited置于句首，起强调作用）

2) Less important than ever is developing a meaningful philosophy of life.

建立一种有意义的人生哲学不像以前那样重要了。（主语developing a... life太长，表语less important than ever过短，为了避免头重脚轻，将表语前置）

例：More difficult， in the moment， is discerning precisely how these lean times are affecting society’s character.

①本句为形容词短语前置的倒装句，正常的语序为：Discerning precisely how... is more difficult in the moment。

②句子主语为动名词短语discerning how... character，其中包含how引导的宾语从句，作动名词discerning的宾语。

要精准察觉当前的经济萧条对社会特征的影响，则较为困难。

as引导的让步状语从句中，表语放句首时要倒装。
