want后面为什么要ing

want 属于后面加v -ing 和to do 区别很大的词，want to do 是想要做某事，want doing 表示某事被做，主动表被动。除了want ，还有need， require 等也是这样的。

want后面接动词可以接ing形式成为动名词。

如：

1、We do not want people prying into our affairs

我们不希望别人窥探我们的私事。

2、They didn't want people staring at them as they sat on the lawn.

他们不希望坐在草坪上时被别人盯着看
