uptillnow和sofar的区别：

up till now

只适用于表示时间：到目前为止

so far

可以用来表示时间：到目前为止

So far there's been no word from them.

=Up to now there's been no word from them.

至今没有他们的消息。

也可以用来表示其他：就此范围(程度)来说

You can go only so far on five dollars.

你顶多花五美元。

区别：so far 概括的时间范围要比 up till now 广 ，up till now 绝大多数情况下表示“直到我讲话的这个时间为止，就是直到眼下”的意思，而后 so far 可以表示“到最近这一段时间为止”。
