英语复合句句子结构分析

英语复合句有主语从句、表语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句、定语从句、状语从句等。无论哪种主从复合句最关键的是找到主句中的谓语。∵主语从句、表语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句在句子中起名词作用，分别在句子中充当主语、表语、宾语、同位语，这四种从句统称为名词性从句。例如：What he wants is a microwave.他想要的是一台微波炉。主句谓语是is， what he wants是主语从句，a microwave是宾语。

例如：I want to know what they are saying.我想知道他们在说什么。want是主句的谓语，不定式to know what...作want 的宾语。在不定式中，what they are saying作动词know的宾语从句。

例如：This is why we put off the meeting.这就是我们推迟会议的原因。主句谓语is， 也就系表结构，why we put off the meeting.是由引导词why引导的表语从句。

例如：The news that he burst with anger surprised all of us.他勃然大怒的消息让我们都很吃惊。主句谓语是surprised， that he burst with anger是同位语从句，对主语the news进行解释说明，that 只起连接作用，在从句中不充当任何成分。

定语从句顾名思义，就是在句子中起定语成份的句子，定语从句分为限制性定语从句和非限制定语从句。例如：Rose is the person（whom/who）you should look after.罗斯是你应该照顾的人。该句是限制性定语从句，主句谓语是is ， the person 作宾语，whom/who you should look after是the person的定语从句。

Lin Tao，who is our monitor， was praised by our teacher yesterday.主句谓语是was praised ，Lin Tao是主语，who is our monitor对Lin Tao进行附加说明，是定语从句，主从句间用逗号隔开，去掉who is...主句的意思仍然完整清楚，是非限制性定语从句。

状语从句就是在句子中起状语成份的句子。状语从句又分为时间、地点、原因、条件、方式、让步、目的、结果、比较状语从句。例如：It was snowing when he arrived at the cathedral.他到达大教堂时，天正在下雪。主句谓语是was， when he arrived at the cathedral.作状语，是时间状语从句。
