used to be done表示過去經常被做， be used to do 表示被用來做，都有被動的意思，但被動所處的位置不一樣。例如： Many in-home jobs that used to be done primarily by women are now also done by men. （過去很多以婦女爲主做的家務現在男子也做）。

Knives are used to cut.(刀子是用來切東西的）

Used to be done和be used to do都表示被動，意思不一樣。

Used to be done，表示"過去常常被..."

Be used to do表示"被用來幹..."
