英語主語單數是什麼意思的

在英語中，作主語的是名詞或相當於名詞的詞（代詞、動名詞、動詞不定式、主語從句） 一般可數名詞和人稱代詞才有有單複數之分 其他做主語的都是單數主語。

例如：I am hungry.（單數）Both my brother and I are hungry. We are hungry(複數）。

另外， 一些特殊結構對單複數有特別的規定： 就近原則： Neither my brother nor I am hungry.(單數，以第二個主語決定謂語的數） There are three cats and a dog in the room./ There is a dog and three cats in the room
