such that和so that倒裝句區別

Such…that 倒裝有兩種用法:

1） such +形容詞+名詞+that…

Such a beautiful woman was she that I fell in love immediately. 她是如此美麗，我立刻愛上了她。

Such a nice day was it that I went on an excursion. 天氣這麼好，我去遠足了。

2) such was the…that… 此時such=so great

Such is the moment that all greats traverse. 一切偉大的事業都要經歷這樣的時刻。

Such is the elegance of this typeface that it is still a favourite of designers. 這種字型很優美，至今仍深受設計人員喜歡。

Such was the wind that we couldn't open the window. 風太大了，我們打不開窗戶

so……that……只有一種倒裝用法:

...

So small was the mark that I could hardly see it. 標記太小了，我幾乎看不見。

So fast does light travel that we can hardly imagine its speed. 光速如此之快，我們幾乎無法想象它的速度。

So quickly did he run that the others couldn't catch up with him. 他跑得那麼快，其他人趕不上他。

So strange was the situation that I couldn't sleep. 情況太奇怪了，我睡不著

1） so that可以連在一起引導結果從句時，可以分開，也可以放在一起。so that分開時，so後面可接“形容詞，副詞或分詞so位於句首，主句的主謂要倒裝。

例 1 The book was so boring that he gave up reading it half way through. 這本書非常乏味，他讀了一半就不讀了。

例 2 He spoke so rapidly that we could not clearly understand him. 他說得太快，使我們無法清楚地瞭解他的意思。

例 3 So badly was he injured that he had to be sent to the hospital. 他的傷勢很重，不得不送醫院。

例 4 Susan was so exhausted that she couldn’t eat dinner.蘇姍疲憊得吃不下晚餐。

2） such (…) that只用來引導結果狀語從句。such後面可以接單數可數名詞，複數可數名詞，不可數名詞。such放在句首，主謂要倒裝。

例 1 This is such a useful dictionary that I’m thinking of buying it. 這本字典很有用，我正打算買一本。

例 2 This book is written in such easy English that beginners can understand it. 這本書是用淺易的英語寫的，所以初學者可以讀懂。

例 3 They are such fine teachers that we all hold them in great respect. 他們是非常好的老師，我們對他們極為尊敬。

例 4 The shock was such (= so great) that he was almost driven mad. 因為打擊太大，她差點發瘋了。

例 5 Such was the force of the eruption that the whole town was covered with ash. 火山爆發的威力大得使整個城市都被火山灰淹沒了。
