否定加比较级变最高级

否定词与比较级连用表最高级时，只限于此类句式：

1、 否定主语，即主语本身是一些否定词。

比如：nobody，nothing，no +名词 或no other +名词作主语，后加比较级，表示“没有什么人或物可与之相比”。

Nothing is more important than this. 没有什么比这件事更重要了。

=Nothing is so important as this.

= This is the most important thing.

这件事最重要。

Nobody works harder than Tom.

= Tom works hardest.

2、 否定谓语，即借助情态动词的否定形式can’t/couldn’t 后加比较级，或never，not，no等否定词。

表示“不能做到与之相比”。

I couldn’t agree with you any more.

我非常同意。

It couldn’t be worse.不能再糟糕了。

用否定词加比较级表最高级，比直接用最高级感觉更有说服力。

② 第二种情况：no +比较级+than

= = as+反义词+as

如：Henry is no taller than Mike. = Neither Henry nor Mike is tall = Henry is as short as Mike.

第三种情况：not +比较级+than

表示前者不如后者

如：Henry is not taller than Mike.

= Henry is shorter than Mike.

= Mike is taller than Henry.

= Henry is not as/so tall as Mike.
