ready for的用法及短语，get something

get ready for sth./to do sth.

get ready for sth.意为“为某事做准备”get ready to do sth.意为“准备做某事”

例如：

get ready for something difficult or unpleasant.为某些不愉快或困难的事情而作好准备

We are getting ready for the meeting. 我们正在为会议做准备。

They were getting ready to have a sports meet at that moment. 他们那时正准备开运动会。

prepare sth for sb= get sth ready for sb

Ready 最常用的是做形容词，少数情况下也做动词、副词和名词。

形容词：( 比较级和最高级， readier， readiest)

prepared， 准备好了的(不用在名词前面，仅做表语) 

We can't eat now – dinner is not ready. I will be ready in five minutes. Are you ready to go to school?
